Hello, second trimester.

Well, exciting news. I am officially in my second trimester and the chances of carrying to term in 90%! That takes a lot of stress off me and makes me much worry free. This past week has been a pretty good one. I had my first trimester screening and it went really well, everything should be a-okay in there. I also had another ultra sound and it was so awesome. I got to hear the heart beat for the first time and see him/her move around all over the place. At the beginning of the ultrasound, it was sleeping and being very still, but the ultra sound tech started moving me around and mashing on my belly and it startled him/her awake. (which was totally cute to see...) It kicked its little legs out and swung its fists over their face and then turned away... :) aw. He/she was moshing in my belly!

Anyways, I'm still very tired all the time, although I have been making it past 10:30 these past couple of days... I think I didn't go to bed last night til Midnight... Woah!

Welp, anywho- this is what my little mosher is up to this week:
"He or she now weighs about 2.5 ounces and is roughly 3.5 inches in length. Little hairs, known as lanugo, will start to cover their body this week, as their sense of taste and smell are further refined. Their cozy little amniotic sac is also increasing in size and mass as it continues to fill with more fluid."

It is also practicing smiling, grimacing, frowning, and squinting.

Last night my mom told me that she was getting really excited about me having a baby. That made me feel good.

12!

Hai! Well, I am officially in week 12. I have one more week and I am out of my first trimester, which will be a completely new breath of fresh hour. My paranoia of something going wrong should go down and I should be able to relax a little bit, because my chances of carrying to term is bumped up from 75% to 90%... Woohoo!

This coming up Thursday, the 19th, I have another doctor appointment. I'm getting a first trimester screening... which is where they take a piece of the placenta and is testing the baby for birth defects or chromosomal deficiencies. Even though I am sure there is nothing wrong with the little baby, I just want to be 100% sure and plus, I get another ultra sound and I will take any opportunity to to see my baby wiggle around. Yeah! I am kinda nervous though, I'm not really sure how they do the test and that kinda freaks me out. Plus, my Mom can't go with me because she's going to be out of town doing something for her work, and Jack has to work. :( -sigh- But I really hope Natalie can come with me, because I really, really don't want to go by myself. I get scared.

Anyways, here's what my little baby bee is up to this week:

"Even though your little Einstein’s body is still growing quite rapidly 2 inches long right now, the overall super-speedy growth of their amazing brain continues to leave the head proportionately larger than the body— and is actually slightly more than one third of their total body mass! The head and neck are still straightening at this point as can be seen by their little chin lifting off of the chest. Your baby is also actively rehearsing “breathing” by using amniotic fluid to prepare the lungs for future air respiration.

The big news: your little pooper is now officially going to need diapers! Although a majority of the waste produced is transferred to the mother’s system for discharge (to avoid having it linger in the amniotic sac), some urine is released to the amniotic fluid and your baby will actually breathe it in before it passing it on to your for discharge. Not to worry, urine--in this particular form, is completely harmless to your baby."

Ew, that last part is kinda... disgusting. Ha Ha... but oh well. Least I don't gotta buy any diapers for awhile! Bwahah!

Oh! and last week I was at Babies R Us and I found the crib bedding I really, really want. :) It's got baby animals on it and lots of different colors, so if it's a boy or girl, it will work out. (I say this because I plan on painting the babies room before I find out the sex, My sister and I are planning to paint when she comes home for the holidays.)

Week number 11

Hey, everyone. So, I'm in week eleven already. It's weird, It doesn't feel like I've been pregnant that long at all... still feels like I just found out! Everyone is being really awesome and supportive so, that makes things a lot easier. Anyways, here is what is happening this week!

"Maybe you’ve noticed… your baby is a super-duper grower! Your lil' fetus will be gaining a substantial amount of weight this week and has already achieved fruit-size-status comparable to a plum. What's more, your little scientist is already starting to explore their body, focusing most intently on touching their head, and especially their face and mouth. Their mouth in particular will provide them with hours of entertainment. This happens not only because your baby is gaining coordination, and is therefore able to move a hand on command, but also because their palms have gained sensation and can actually “feel” what it touches.They're also developing their swallow reflex this week. And lastly, your baby's smelling and other olfactory senses will begin developing this week, which when combined with the maturing taste buds, will provide your baby with their first experiences of taste and smell."


:D This makes me happy. I was also thinkin about how my baby's personality will be. Gah! I can't wait!! :D

This week the internet has been all sorts of retarded, so I haven't been able to post anything bout this week, so I'll give you a quickie before I post about the 11th week. :)

Nothing's really changing for me, still same ol' same ol'... I almost pee'd on myself, that kinda sucked... Thank you coughing fit...

Anyways, this is what my wittle wombmate is up to:

ALSO: My baby is starting to form irises of his eyes annnnnnnnnnd he/she is developing fingernails... and that makes me a happy mama. :)

What an exciting week for meeee!

WELL WELL WELL WELL... I am now in week 9. I've had a pretty exciting week, I had my doctors appointment on the 20th and got to see my little baby for the first time. She/he was so wiggly and I could see it's little heart beat flickering away at a proud 169bpm. It was really exciting and shocking... I can't wait to see it again... that'll be in another 4 weeks, though. :( Then they're going to do a first trimester screening, looking for birth defects and what not. It was an optional thing, but I'd rather know now to be prepared rather than it get sprung on me later... ya know?

Anyways, yesterday (the 23rd) I had an actual visit with my doctor and they had to do an awfully awkward papsmear, (haha, and I made Jack stay in the room to hold my hand) and had to get my blood drawn... I also had to drink this disgusting sugary drink, yuck. :/ It wasn't a bad trip, it was actually kinda fun and pretty informative. :)

Okies, here's a peak of what's happenin' with the peanut in my uterus:
"Congratulations! Your amazing growing baby has been accepted into to the fetus-club, a very exclusive and exiting new stage in their prenatal development. Basically, this means the little sweet pea has graduated from swimming embryo creature to a recognizable human being! This week in particular, the irises of their little eyes can function, but (frustratingly for them?) their eyelids remain fused shut for a while yet. Their external ears are formed and their inner ears are now filled with fluid—so your little one is already developing their sense of balance. Your baby's little swimmer legs are still relatively, although other bodily developments are going forward at a nice pace: their kidney is actually functioning now, which means they’ve started urinating (this might seem charming now but wait till you have to start buying diapers!)."

Ew... my baby is peeing in meee :( What's even grosser is that they swallow it and it's just a vicious cycle of drinkin the pee, then peein' the pee. haha.

annnnd I skipped a week.

Woops, sorry. I've been so busy this week that I completely forgot about week 7. Nothing huge happened-- cept, it was growing it's toes and a tongue and what not. And his(or her) head isn't pointy no more! Woohoo!

8 weeks today! YAHOO!! 4 more weeks and I'll be outta the scare zone (aka: first trimester) and some big stuff will really be happening. I'm excited, we've made it this far... even though the little one has been pretty quite down there... I haven't been experiencing many symptoms... mostly just fatigue and some crazy mood swings (who knows, I could just be taking advantage of being a bitch! :P) But as for nausea, the little hasn't kept me too ill. Turns out the baby HATES mexican food, and will make me vomit in a very painful, suffocating type fashion. My ta-ta's aren't that painful, which is good when you gotta lug the ones I have around... heh.

Anyways, according to baby gaga, this is whats happening in Hotel Del Womb:
"You've got one whole inch of baby inside of you! Your little embryo has finally reached the one-inch mark (30mm). And if it were possible to take a peek, you could actually see your tiny baby without a telescope! What’s more, your baby is finally starting to take on some very distinct human features. For starters, their little tail (really just the spinal cord) has disappeared completely. It’s nice to know your baby can no longer be mistaken for a sea creature! Additionally, both their toes and fingers are prominent with very little, if any, webbing. Upper and lower limbs all show recognizable joints (elbows and knees) and the lower limb bones are starting to ossify. But don’t expect your baby to resemble either parent quite yet. Right now, your baby’s head is disproportionately larger than the rest of their body--making up almost half of your little one’s height and weight!"


SWEET! I ACTUALLY KIND OF HAVE SOMETHING RESEMBLING A BABY INSIDE ME!!

Oh you're so glorious.

I'm in love with you, little baby. You're just 6 weeks old, but my entire heart already belongs completely to you. You have me to love you, I will never leave you, and I will never hurt you. I love you, little baby. I love you. I love you. I love you.


I was feeling my lower tummy today and you can feel how it's getting harder under neath my skin and it's really really really awesome. I'm not getting much morning sickness, mostly the twingy cramping still from my uterus growing or whatever. It's normal until like the 6th month or so. Cool, huh?

By the way-- this is what is going on this week:

This is going to be a busy week for your amazing little embryo. Their brain is still growing remarkably fast; miniature hand plates are starting to develop and the early formations of what will be their fingers are already visible. Also, the lower limbs do not develop quite as fast, so they’re pretty much still flippers. Up until this point, your baby has been very curled up with the head and tail in close proximity, but this week their trunk and neck are beginning to grow and straighten as their tail recedes into its resting position in the back. Even though your little miracle is only 6 weeks old, they’re already capable of demonstrating reflex responses to touch!
